National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program

2020 National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program is POSTPONED

Our leadership team has been monitoring the developments related to COVID-19. During this unprecedented public health uncertainty caused by the escalation of this pandemic, we have made the difficult but important decision to postpone the 2020 National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program. It is no longer safe, prudent, logistically possible or legal to proceed with a gathering the size of the conference in Washington, D.C.

As you know, this decision was not easy and comes after careful consideration of all of the available information from the CDC, World Health Organization, the Mayor’s Office of the District of Columbia, our D.C. partners and discussions with the leadership team of our co-convener, the Medical University of South Carolina and the 13th National Conference on Health Disparities.

The health and safety of our sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, staff and production team, and of course our loyal audience who join us year after year is always our first priority. Postponing the conference at this time gives us the possibility of having our conference proceed at a later date when more information on the health crisis is available and current directives and restrictions have been reviewed. We will continue to work with our sponsors, board members, co-convener and leadership team to update our agenda and speaker lineup and other additions to ensure another first-class program if near future circumstances and conditions permit.

We will be in contact with all attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors in the weeks ahead regarding next steps. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact us at email@thenejc.org. We will hopefully see you later this year.
